Description

“Free Falling” is an amalgamation of form, materials and processes that functions as a lamp.  Perhaps more sculptural than functional, it steps over the line into fine art a bit more than most of my pieces.  A Russian olive base, broken columns of wenge, and textured and patina-ed copper tube and anchors, support a shade consisting of randomly shaped copper screen with a lead brim.  The shade, if indeed it shades anything, flaunts a greenish blue patina and with the dual layers of screen, is ever changing and moving as the viewer alters their position.
